When/Where We Meet

InSight Youth Ministry is the Youth Ministry of Oak Hills Church: (www.oakhills.org).  We exist to invite and mentor young people to live in the way, grace, and goodness of Jesus.

MIDDLE SCHOOL:
“The BLEND” – Every Sunday morning @ 9am and 11am (in the Youth Auditorium).  This is our weekly Sunday morning class designed to give middle school students an understanding of the Bible and a desire to grow in their understanding of God’s good Kingdom.  The FIRST Sunday of each week, we gather as the entire church family for communion.

“The THING” – Every Sunday evening 6-8pm (in the Youth Auditorium).  This is our weekly gathering designed to connect students to a caring and loving adult leader in small groups.  The THING has worship, teaching, games, small groups, and a chance to start and build relationships with adults and older students that will help mentor them in their life with Jesus.

Retreats – Endless Summer and Winter Camp.

Special Events – Christmas party, concerts, service projects, free car washes and other “hang time” make for great ways to connect with their adult small group leader/mentor.

HIGH SCHOOL
Sunday mornings we encourage all high school students to attend church at either the 9am or 11am service.  We believe in being the Church together and are striving to represent a multi-generational approach to ministry.  Therefore, we do not have a regular every Sunday morning class or program for high school students.

“The VIBE” – Every Tuesday night 7:00-8:30pm (in the Youth Auditorium).  This is our weekly gathering designed to inspire students to grow in their life with God and to equip them with the ability to go out into their world (campus, work, sports teams, neighborhoods) and bring the Good News of the Kingdom with them.  There is food, worship, teaching, discussion groups, and time to connect with each other.

“Timothy Groups” – Various dates/times.  For students who would like to be mentored in what life with Jesus looks like, they can sign up to be a part of a Timothy Group for a semester at a time.  These groups meet weekly during the semester and go through material together, pray, serve, and seek to understand what living with Jesus in their everyday life looks like.  These groups are led by passionate and well-equipped mentors.

“Special OPS” – Occasional Sunday morning class.  On occasion, we hold classes on Sunday mornings designed to further understand our faith and critical truths.  We typically have 2-3 classes per year and they run for 4 weeks each.  Subjects change for each class but have included: prayer; other faiths; evolution; understanding the Bible; and worship to name a few.

Retreats – Summer Charge (summer, duh), Lord’s Land (fall), Winter (winter, duh), and our Trinidad Mission Trip (spring break)
